Datasources created can be grouped into various environments. ETL Validator supports execution of test cases developed for one environment (eg. Dev) against other environments (eg. Test and Production) without having the need to change the connections in each individual test case or making a copy of test cases for each environment. This is possible by using the Environments feature. When you have environments ready in ETL Validator, you can run the same test case in more than one environment –once each in testing and production, in the Data Compare Test Plan

Information In the Data Compare Test Plan, you select an environment from the Options available in the Run page.

Create an Environment

To create an environment,

  1. Navigate to Admin Options > Environments.
  2. Click Environment +.
  3. In the screen that appears, enter Environment Name.
  4. Click Save.
For more information about how to set up Environments, please see the Knowledge base article here.

Assigning a Datasource to an Environment

When you have environments ready, you will want to assign data sources. To assign a datasource to an environment, drag and drop the data source from Data Sources panel into the environment panel of your choice.
