A Data Rules Test Plan allows you to define data rules on the source or target database and then checks for data consistency, accuracy and integrity problems.

As this test plan creates rules for connection at the Data Model, it displays and executes all rules defined for selected tables irrespective of whether the rules were created as part of the test plan. Data rules can be defined at column level using a custom query (using query builder), or custom SQL (enter the query manually).

Some of the example validations are:

  • Verify that the values in column conform to an encoded list.
  • Verify whether the data in a particular column is within expected limits or format.

Data Rules Test Plan can be scheduled or executed on demand. User can also specify options such as number of rules that can be executed in parallel.  The Run History details the Test Plan execution information. Further, reports are available to show data rule success or failure by table and run.
